What is National Night Out?
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual community-building event across the country where communities connect with law enforcement to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood fellowship. I learned about NNO via social media and decided I wanted to spend time with my community while documenting good moments. Connecting with Daly City community members, officers, businesses, churches, the library, the fire department, and so much more was a pleasure!
Out of a gallery of 200+ final images, these are the moments that depict the love and goodness in our community. We are surrounded by people who care and people who show up. Sometimes, showing uptakes is work, and I hope everyone I have to document and connect with knows and remembers that they are seen.
